Greetings! For your Thanksgiving cena, Road Bike Action has the final
tasty tidbits from the 66th edition of the EICMA show, otherwise known
as the Milano Bike (and Motorcycle show). After il primo piatto, we’re
now serving the Milano main course:
SeiGiorni: Round and Round they go and where they stop nobody knows.
The Milano 6-Day was a big hit with the large crowds of public who
attended the show on the weekend. Rosella Signori (L) of Sidi chats with Gilberto Simoni (R) in the 6-Day track center.
Olympic Golden Man Chris Hoy (L) swap race stories with Italian sprinter Roberto Chiappa (R) between sprint heats.
We Are The Champions: Lampre’s World Champion Alessandro Ballan had his bike on display at team sponsor Garmin’s stand.

Garmin-Chipotle’s Christian Vandevelde’s Felt was also on display at Garmin;
Vandevelde was the first to wear the Maglia Rosa in this year’s Giro
d’Italia
Cinelli: Antonio Colombo has been a
visionary for city bikes for many years with his Bootleg bikes until the trends finally caught up to
him. This Cinelli Mystic Rats single speed is an ideal urban assault
vehicle for Milano, New Your or Tokyo.
This Cinelli Vigorelli track bike has Columbus Airplane alu tubing for max stiffness.
De Rosa: Formula is De Rosa’s new TT bike, with a unidirectional carbon
fibre monocoque frameset featuring an integrated seatmast.

3-THL is De Rosa’s triathlon specific bike, designed to provide enhanced comfort along with excellent aerodynamics.
Diva is De Rosa’s bike for Milano fashionistas who want to pedala bella
Ducati: Bianchi has the license to produce Ducati bicycles and avid
cyclist Troy Bayliss, 2008 Superbike champion (on a Ducati) is often
seen riding around his Italian base on his Ducati Corse Factory 900 XR.
Even kids can have a Ducati Corse!
Finotti: Small Italian builder Finotti is a perfect example of locally
made tube-to-tube carbon fibre bicycles for the Italian cicloamatori.
Made in Tortona, east of Torino, Fabio Finotti had some good looking
carbon bikes.
FRW: This Italy-only brand, created by Claudio Brusi and his wife
Liliana Raimondi, former Italian importers of Diamond Back and Marin is
a big hit among Gran Fondo riders. Shown is the Sonoma, a 3K weave
carbon fibre frame with tube-to-tube construction and Mizuno Fiandre
carbonfibre fork. FRW Bicycle and Dolomite Stars will organise the 2009
Gran Fondo Dolomiti Star-FRW-Weber in the Italian
Dolomites to be held in Arabba, Italy on Sunday September 13, with FRW
the official bike sponsor.
Fulcrum: New from
Fulcrum Wheels for 2009 are the Racing Right XLR wheelset, 1370g.
clincher climbing wheelset with 22 spokes front / 24 spokes rear.
Guerciotti: Gilberto Simoni’s
Guerciotti Luxor TT bike from the 2008 Giro d’Italia was on display at
Ambrosio. Luxor has a monocoque frame with integrated seatmast that
uses “Smooth Wall Technology”, which Guerciotti claims “creates a
uniform structure for carbon fibre tubing to reduce the risk of
breakage.” <>
Gota Woody:<>One of the most interesting bikes on display at EICMA
Milano was the Gota wooden bicycle, originally created by Brazilian
engineer Danza Vilela for a university project. Shown is the Gota Woody
model.
