The Van Dessel Gin & Trombones received a few updates for 2010, including a BB30 bottom bracket, 1.125 to 1.25 tapered headset and an amazing Belgian flag paint scheme to celebrate the heritage of cyclocross.
It might be the most expensive tandem of all time. Edge Composites was displaying the Calfee carbon fiber tandem with Edge carbon wheels, handlebars and a carbon belt drive timing chain.
Fuji was showing two retro styled single speed and fixed geared bikes. The Feather and Classic models feature double-butted steel frames with pista style bars, flip/flop rear hubs and quill style stems.
Louis Garneau was showing a Rock Racing branded Diamond helmet. The helmet features a snake skin pattern on top and a pseudo snake skin material around the base. The strap holders on the front of the helmet even have decals to give the appearance of eyes.
Lake has developed a shoe with heat moldable carbon soles. Unlike other heat molded shoes that only form the top of the shoe, the Lake CX401 carbon soles themselves are moldable. The soles can even be reheated and remolded to fine tune the fit. In addition to the moldable carbon soles the CX401 feature Kangaroo leather, a Boa closure system and weigh under 300-grams. The CX401 will retail for $489.00.
The shoe company Puma is bringing a line of wildly styled urban bikes to be sold in Puma stores and selected retailers. Pictured is their single speed road model, constructed from steel with a massive oversized top tube.
Twentytwo was on hand showing some of their off the bike clothing. For 2010 twentytwo will sponsoring the Thule / twentytwo grassroots cycling team.
Speaking of Thule, they were rocking at Interbike with a custom built cargo box, complete with DJ turn tables, strobe lights and a clear top. The custom cargo box was hooked up to a nine foot wall of speakers from Rockford Fosgate. |
