STAGE 20: BARLOWORLD (CONTINENTAL PRO)
June 28, 2008

Registered Nation: United Kingdom

Bicycles: Bianchi

Components:  Shimano

Key Riders: Mauricio Soler, Robert Hunter

Title Sponsors: Barloworld is an industrial leasing company.

Registered in the United Kingdom, Barloworld is truly an Italian team, a Continental Pro squad that is selected to many ProTour events thanks to savvy, experienced manager Claudio Corti, with Alberto Volpi & Valerio Tebaldi as sports directors. Barloworld was invited to the 2007 Tour de France as a wild card entry and the team performed well above expectations, with a long sought after stage win by sprinter Robbie Hunter and superb riding from lanky Colombian climber Maurico Soler that gave him a dramatic stage win in Briancon and the Maillot Pois jersey of Best Climber. 25 year old Colombian Soler is coming back from a broken wrist suffered in the Giro d'Italia and will have the support of his experienced compatriot Felix Cardv©nas, a 2001 Tour stage winner. Robbie Hunter will go for the sprints with the help of former Maillot Vert Baden Cook.
