PRE-TOUR TECH AND NEWS: TEAM GARMIN-CHIPOTLE ANNOUNCED IN FRANCE

Jonathan Vaughters announced the new, two-year title sponsorship with Garmin today at the Tour de France as well as the new team name, Team Garmin-Chipotle (formerly Slipstream-Chipotle). The new kits, worn by David Millar at the press conference, were turned around in a matter of weeks by clothing supplier, Pearl Izumi in order to announce the teams new sponsor.

The Garmin-Chipotle team will be equipped with Garmin 705's on their bikes for the Tour as well as a fleet of vehicles equipped with Garmin's automotive GPS technnology.

"It is amazing to look outside our hotel and see a fleet of Garmin vehicles...we have become a prominent team... and we carry an important message," said David Millar.

Look to see the new Garmin-Chipotle kit during coverage of the Tour de France beginning Saturday, "Our biggest aim is to be protagonists and to be at the front of the race for the entire three weeks," said David Millar.
