Mark Cavendish of the Columbia-Highroad team took his third individual stage win at the Giro on Friday, out sprinting Alessandro Petacchi at the end of stage 13, a 176km flat stage from Lido di Camaiore to Florence. Overnight leader Denis Menchov (Rabobank) finished in the lead group to maintain his overall lead ahead of Danilo Di Luca and Levi Leipheimer.
