Road Bike Action was on hand for the ExpoBici Padova 2011bike show, Italy's #1 bike show open to dealers and public alike. We were in Padova on a warm, sunny day with the fairgrounds packed with tifosi of all things cycling. As one can imagine, a major attraction was the Campagnolo stand. At the center of the Italian component makers large, elegant booth was a kiosk that provided the official Italian debut of the Campagnolo Electronic Drivetrain. The affable Valentino Campagnolo was on hand to meet Campy fans and talk to his fellow Italians. Mr. Campagnolo told Road bike Action "we are really excited about our new Campagnolo Electronic Drivetrain. We have put a lot of time and effort into developing this and we are confident that cyclists worldwide will be very impressed with the performance." Campagnolo sources explained that after a team launch in early 2012, the Campagnolo Electronic Drivetrain should be available to the public in spring of next year.

Miss Marta Gazzola of Gaerne Shoes shows Road Bike Action the new G.Stella womans cycling shoe. "We created a womens specific shoe with a narrower heel, higher instep and smaller toebox just for women's feet and this seems to be well received by female riders."

Famous for their legacy in cyclocross, Alan is a bike brand local to Padova and although they no longer produce their legendary lugged aluminum frames, the Alan tradition carries on in the carbon fiber realm. This swoopy model is the S-Max, a dual-mold monocoque frame in T-100 1k weave high-modulus carbon fiber with a BB30 bottom bracket and integrated seatmast with a claimed weight of 6.5kg as shown. Alan bikes are distributed in America by Stellina Sports.

Always larger than life, Mario Cipollini's bike brand appears to be taking offin Italia. Featured in this movie presentation, Cipo's stand was always crowded at ExpoBici Padova. Will Cipo's bikes ever be brought into America?

Verona's Bressan has been building artisan bikes since the 1970's and their Pistaiolo fixie is the brother of their steel Vintage model. Handmade in Italy with Columbus steel and with beautiful cast lugs, this Italian beauty combines tradition with modern bike technology.

Props to Cinelli for reviving their bicycle business with innovative models that simultaneously espouse high-technology while embracing Cinelli's classic cycling tradition. The Gazetta dell Strada model is a modern urban interpretation of the French radonnee' style bike, with a steel frame with slightly sloping toptube, mudguards and a front rack.

Cinelli's WYSIWYG TT bike has been re-launched for 2012 with a full monocoque carbon fiber frame made using aerospace carbon fiber with aero shape tube sections.

Zydeco is the name of Cinelli's ciclocross bike, built with triple-butted Columbus Zonal aluminum triple tubes and a unique ‘Ergo Shoulder Section’ shaped top tube and Pro Cyclocross geometry with a high bottom bracket, long wheelbase for mud clearance and stable handling and steeper head tube.
