Scott professional triathlete Linsey Corbin, America’s top female finisher at the recent 70.3 Ironman World Championships (third overall), has announced she will bring her new custom Scott Sports Plasma 3, as well as a Big Sky Brewing Company beer to this year’s Ironman World Championships slated for the Big Island of Hawaii, on October 8, 2011.
Corbin’s custom Scott Sports Plasma 3 bike, which debuted at the 2010 event, was auctioned for charity earlier this Spring. This year’s white, purple, and green ride features a Montana theme to match Corbin’s “Montana Made” moniker.
Corbin said, “Scott Sports continues to push the envelope on design. All they asked was that I send my favorite image of the Montana mountains. It’s the first bike I’ve seen with embedded photography in the design.” The bike also features her signature bison skull logo and a compliment of parts from longtime sponsors Speedplay, SRAM, Zipp, and Vision.
Missoula-based Big Sky Brewing Company, Corbin’s so-called “recovery” sponsor, will once again be packaging a Linsey Corbin Montana Made Ale for this year’s event. Corbin said, “I don’t know many triathletes that don’t enjoy a good, cold beer after a long day at the office.”
As for the beer style, previous versions have ranged from a filtered wheat ale to a hoppy, strong ale. To support Scott Sports’ design efforts on the bike, the brewery’s graphic artist designed a can to match this year’s frame design. In addition to this custom look, the can label also features logos from Corbin’s top three sponsors: Saucony, Clif Bar, and Scott Sports. |
