One of the most elegant bicycle designs in history, the Cinelli Laser
pioneered Tig welded frames outside of BMX in the1980's. This iteration
pays homage to the re-launch of steel fixed gear bikes, a trend that
Cinelli and Columbo helped get started.

Antonio Columbo proudly showed Road Bike Action the newest incarnation of the Cinelli Laser, the only bicycle to win Italy's coveted Compasso d'Oro design award twenty years ago. But the Laser isn't only a pretty face; the innovative Tig welded design has won more than more than 28 gold medals in various Olympic games and World Championships, not to mention the sea level hour record under Danish trackie Hans-Henrik Oersted in 1985.
Columbo told us "we have assembled the original Laser team again; Andrea Pesenti who built 300 Lasers in the 1980’s, Paolo Erzegovesi who engineered the Laser, and Emilvano Montorio drew the tubing and myself, Antonio Colombo who thought up the Laser." Cinelli will making only 21 of the Laser frames to celebrate the fact that the bike is 21 years old, with fifteen reportedly sold already oat over $10,000 each!

Smooth, sleek lines are the hallmark of the Cinelli Laser, with only 300 having ever been built by the iconic Italian bicycle brand.

Cinelli Laser has a reinforced aerodynamic bottom bracket area. The Lazer typifies both the simplicity and inherent beauty of certain bikes.

Segal Bicycles from Zutphen, Netherlands showed some intriguing bikes at Eurobike. This is their Compact model with sloping geometry for better wind resistance. Segal claims their bicycles have more comfort due to the high damping capacity from magnesium frame tubing and extra strength as compared to aluminum with a 54 frame weighing a claimed 2.25 lbs.

Dutch firm Koga had their Kimera Road on show at Eurobike, an offshoot of their medal winning Olympic track bike, the Kimera. The attractive, swoopy bike features a High modulus carbon fiber frame with a 3K finish, press fit bottom bracket, integrated cable routing and carbon dropouts.

Italian marque Scapin debuted their new Ivor frame at Eurobike, a 100% made In Italy model with a special TT Matrix UD carbon fiber and only available as a custom frameset. Scapin's unique TT Matrix combines monocoque frame sections mated via wrapped (fasciata) tube to tube construction. |
