Here they are together - the two "Great Ones" Ernesto Colnago and Eddy Merckx. The Belgian "GOAT" is riding a Colnago built Molteni.
That's right, Road Bike Action is giving away a copy (not the autographed one!) of "Colnago- The Bicycle". This is the book written by the Colnago family & Pier Augusto Stagi and tells life the story of Mr. Ernesto Colnago himself. The 300+ page book (that was painstakingly translated by RBA's own Tim Maloney) is full of some fabulous historical anecdotes along with a breathtaking collection of old photos that most eyes will never see anywhere else but inside this book.
"We have always been a family company and this is still our strength, our pride."

What a great photo eh? That's Ernesto putting the chain back on for a very determined looking Gianni Motta (circa 1965).
All you need to do is answer a few questions based on the three Colnago web posts that have gone up in the last two weeks - plus - provide one subjective answer to an easy question. Once we get a gaggle of entries, a random (but hella lucky) winner will be selected and the book will be mailed out. People, this is the time to act!!
1. How long does a Colnago C59 frame bake in the oven following assembly?
2. What year did Mr. Colnago deliver the "Gold Bike" to Pope Johnn Paul II?
3. What year did the Colnago/Ferrari relationship begin?
4. Tell us in as many words as you want what the best stretch of road or what the best road bike bike ride you've ever ridden is? Why?
Send your answers to Best Ride Contest. |
