FEATURES: A LOOK AT THE BIKES OF THE 2010 TOUR DOWN UNDER PART 3
Road Bike Action / Photos by Yuzuru Sunada
January 25, 2010
As the peloton finishes the first ProTour event of 2010,
Road Bike Action
completes its look at the bikes of the 2010 professional peloton.
RABOBANK
Largely unchanged from last year, the Rabobank team will race on Giant TCR Advanced SL bikes with full Shimano Dura Ace components and wheels. PRO will again provide the team with handlebars and stems. Selle Italia saddles and Vittoria tires complete the team bikes.
RADIOSHACK
Trek and Lance Armstrong continue their partnership at RadioShack. The team will ride Trek Madone 6-series frames with SRAM Red components. Bontrager will supply the wheels stems, handlebars, seatposts and saddles. For 2010 the team will use Hutchinson tires and Look pedals. The most striking aspect of the RadioShack bikes is their intricate paint schemes. The RadioShack team bikes paint jobs feature multiple RadioShack logos along with a yellow strip on the right seatstay in support of Armstrong’s Livestrong foundation.
SAXO BANK
The Saxo Bank team bikes are built around Specialized’s SL3 frames and feature SRAM red drivetrains mated to Specialized FACT carbon cranks. The team continues with Zipp wheels that are wrapped in Specialized tires. FSA provides the seatposts and handlebars, while Specialized uses their own stems and saddles. The team continues with Speedplay pedals.
SKY
New British ProTour team Sky roars into 2010 aboard Pinarello Dogma 60.1 frames. The team will race on full Shimano Di2 electric or Dura Ace components connected to an SRM PowerMeter. The team will run Dura Ace wheels with Vittoria tires. Deda provides the handlebars and stems, while Pinarello’s in house brand Most provides the seatpost. Prologo saddles round out the team bikes.
