The 2010 RadioShack team bikes are similar to the Trek Madone 6.9 bikes that Armstrong and company rode last year at Astana. The Red level OCLV full carbon frames feature specially profiled tubes mated to a full carbon Bontrager Race XXX Lite fork. The frame also features an extra-wide BB90 bottom bracket with internal bearings and internal cable routing.
The bikes will continue to be made at the Trek factory in Waterloo, WI. and outfitted with SRAM Red components and Bontrager stems, handlebars, seatposts, saddles and wheels. “We are excited to fuel the success of our friends at Team RadioShack by providing the most technologically advanced components and apparel in the world,” said Bontrager Brand Manager Chris Clinton.
The biggest change from last year’s Astana bikes appear to be graphics. The RadioShack bikes feature detailed paint jobs with a repeating RadioShack logo. The team’s co-sponsors are also well represented with the Nissan logo on the chain stays and a Livestrong yellow stripe on the seatstays. Each bike is reported to take 28 hours to handpaint in Trek's Project One paint facility.
