The fork on the Milholland featured a retro styled dual plated fork crown, with super tight tolerances around the tire. Like most builders at the show, Milholland supported local component manufacturer and used a Chris King headset.
Lug work and paint on the Milholland is flawless. A small chainstay bridge adds extra stiffness for larger or more powerful riders.
Sycip's entry into the Constructor’s Design Challenge featured tig welded construction, custom built racks, Dura Ace components mated to mechanical disc brakes. Sycip has a reputation for the clean and stylish designs. With its yellowish orange paint and brown accented rims and fenders this bike was no exception.
www.sycip.comSycip took the unique approach of mounting the front headlights, a requirement of the Constructor's Design Challenge, to the rack mounts on the lower part of the fork.
To meet the security requirements of the Constructor's Design Challenge, Sycip integrated the cable lock into the custom built rear rack.
This is the bike you get to ride if you are one of Keith Anderson's children. This custom cruiser features an aero profile seat tube with an integrated seatmast. A one-piece bar and stem, with wood fenders and chainguard complete the bike.
www.keithandersoncycles.comInstead of a simple playing card in the spokes to make motorcycle noises, the Keith Anderson cruiser features a small sheet of carbon.
Vendetta had this custom built women's specific bike. The lugged frame featured pearlized orange paint with polished chrome lugs. The bike was equipped with a SRAM Red group. A custom built Vendetta starts at $1900.00
www.vendettacycles.comThe Vendetta logo is cut from steel, polished then brazed onto to the down tube.
Co-Motion was displaying their Americano commuter bike. Like most bikes at the show, it was constructed of steel and featured beautiful construction and paint.
www.co-motion.comThe Americano features a carbon belt drive, mechanical disc brakes and a Rohloff internal rear hub. To allow replacement of the belt drive the drive side dropout is two a two piece design held together with a single bolt.
To avoid having to use the horizontal dropouts the Americano uses a eccentric bottom bracket – not surprising from a company known for their tandems.
Pereira Cycles entered this blue beauty into the Constructor's Design Challenge. The bike featured a custom integrated front rack, matching kick stand and hydraulic disc brakes. Pereira gets around having to use mechanical disc brakes by equipping the bike with a mustache handlebar, mountain bike brake levers and bar end shifters. The bike uses a front hub generator to power the front lights and even has internal routing for the rear light wire.
www.pereiracycles.comNot satisfied with cable locks, Pereira integrated a U-lock into the frame and steerer tube. The design also keeps the front wheel straight while loading the front basket.
