FEATURES: TOUR TECH: RBA GETS AN EXCLUSIVE LOOK INSIDE THE TIME FACTORY
July 24, 2009

Alain Descroix, former team mechanic and bike builder for Bernard Hinault and Greg LeMond took time away from working with the Bbox Bouygues-Telecom team on stage 19 to give us an inside-look at the Time factory in the Rhone-Alpes region of France.

New NXR Monocoque Frame and all-carbon "I-Click" Pedals

Time is introducing an assortment of new products for 2010 which will debut at Eurobike in early September 2009. Two products that we were given an exclusive look at are the 2010 Time NXR Instinct road frame, and the revolutionary all carbon Time 183-gram i-click pedal. We don't normally get bent out of shape about pedals, but we can't hide our enthusiasm about the design and concept. The entire mechanism is carbon fiber (minus the spindle), and they are designed to engage with the ease of clicking a mouse (hence, i-click). The NXR is Time's take on a monocoque design, built by hand in their factory.

For those of you who thought we were just being dramatic when we review Time carbon bikes and mention the women sewing and layering homemade French carbon inside the factory, the proof is in the photos.

Here is an exclusive look inside the Time factory.....
