DAILY RACE COVERAGE: LE TOUR DE FRANCE 2010: TOUR TEAMS AND START LIST
July 1, 2010

As Tour Organizers prepare for Le Grand Depart in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on Saturday, Teams are holding press conferences and presentations. Thursday, Organizers published the following list of the 198 riders registered for the July 3-25 Tour de France. The Tour begins Saturday in Rotterdam with a Prologue time trial.

Eight riders from the United States will start the race, including Lance Armstrong (RSH).  Joining Lance in representing the USA are Chris Horner (RSH), Levi Leipheimer (RSH), Christian Vande Velde (GRM), David Zabrieski (GRM), Tyler Farrar (GRM), George Hincapie (BMC) and Brent Brookwalter (BMC).  While Lance has the best chance of the Americans to take home the Yellow Jersey, Christian Vande Velde is considered a contender and may surprise in the Pyrenees. Tyler Farrar (GRM) has his sights set on the Green Jersey for the best sprinter, and after a spectacular Giro d'Italia, he may have the mental state to take the honors from Britain's Cavendish (THR).  Stay tuned to roadbikeaction.com for more analysis, daily results, stage previews and Tour de France news.
